Victory for a Good Cause

Tadej once again donned his race bib last weekend and, as has been customary for him this year, won again. This time it wasn’t an official race, but a charity criterium Beking in Monte Carlo, organized for the fourth time under the leadership of Tadej’s former teammate at UAE Team Emirates Matteo Trentin. Tadej was fastest in the rainy shortened race, and was joined on the podium by Mads Pedersen and Michael Matthews.

»Beking is really a fantastic event and I’m always happy to take part every year. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, the race was still fun. I’m especially happy to have won here because we don’t race in Monaco very often,« Tadej said at the end of the all-day event, primarily aimed at families and charity. Beking is a non-profit organization that raises funds to organize activities and events to popularize sports, education, sustainable mobility and environmental awarnes.

The proceeds from this year’s auction, which also featured Tadej’s bike, were allocated to Beking and the charitable organizations it supports.

»It’s always a special experience. I’m grateful to Matteo and the whole team for continuing to organise this event for such an important cause. It’s inspiring to see so many people out in the rain showing their support and helping to spread the message. The event has grown year on year and it’s exciting to see so many children taking part. This is crucial for the future of the sport, for sustainability and for the values that Beking stands for. I’ve also seen an increase in the number of people using bikes in general, which is definitely a positive sign that we’re moving in the right direction,« Tadej was enthusiastic about the happenings in Monaco, where he is already diligently preparing for the 2025 season.
