The Tuscan white roads await Tadej

After winning two stages and the overall victory at the UAE Tour, Tadej will focus on one-day races in the continuation of the spring season. The first will be this Saturday at Strade Bianche, which he already knows well. The challenge on the Tuscan white roads is one of his favorites, and he has already been the fastest there in 2022 and 2024.

Last year, he opened the season at Strade Bianche and celebrated the first of 25 victories, impressing the cycling world with an 81-kilometer solo attack that he started on the gravel section of Monte Sante Marie. »Strade is a race where I have some great memories. My track record there is pretty good and I hope to be up at the pointy end of the action again on Saturday. We can expect some strong rivals – the startlist is always on a high level for these big races and it should make things exciting both for us and for the fans,« Tadej said about the first of many one-day races ahead of him until the second half of April. Among them will certainly be Milano–Sanremo and the Tour of Flanders, and perhaps for the first time, Paris–Roubaix.

He and his UAE Team Emirates XRG team, which has already celebrated 14 victories, have had a very successful start to the 2025 season. »It was good to get the season started in UAE, winning made it even better obviously. The team is on a good wave at the moment with many wins already and we’ll hope to continue that over the next races,« added Tadej. On Saturday he will rely on the help of Filippo Baroncini, Isaac Del Toro, Felix Grossschartner, Domen Novak, Florian Vermeersch, and Tim Wellens.

Together with his teammates, Tadej has already inspected the key gravel sections of the 213-kilometer race. On the undulating course with 3700 meters of elevation gain, the peloton will have to overcome a total of 81 kilometers of gravel roads, divided into 16 sections. The finish will again be at the famous Piazza del Campo in Siena, where last year Tadej won with a 2:44 advantage over second-placed Toms Skujinš.
