The story of the yellow Colnago is the story of the yellow jersey wearer’s sudden turnaround on the penultimate stage of the 2020 Tour de France. With an incredible time trial on Le Planche de Belle Filles that day, “white” Tadej Pogačar won the yellow jersey and became the first winner to claim his and his Colnago’s first victory in the biggest three-week race. The surprise was so big that the team didn’t even have a yellow bike ready one day before Paris. The bike’s frame travelled all night from Milan to Paris, where it was then assembled by UAE mechanics to be ready for the final stage on the Champs-Elysees. Colnago put up for sale only 116 of these yellow bikes after the first victory in their history, symbolic of the 116 years since a winner younger than Pogačar won the Tour de France.
